From a young age, I have had a passion for various forms of artistic expression. My fascination with Animation grew during this time.

As I pursued my undergraduate degree in Fine Arts at Florida State, my interest shifted towards Sculptural Vessels while studying under William Harper. This journey led me to earn an MFA in Metals. During this period, I took on the role of Assistant Art Director at WFSU TV, which reignited my early love for animation through the creation of commercials and promotional materials. Eventually, I moved to San Diego, California, where I secured a Sabbatical position that allowed me to enter the budding digital animation field. As I advanced in this area, I found myself working at DreamWorks Animation as a surfacing/texture artist until my retirement in 2017. I then merged my digital expertise with 3D printing as I began experimenting with clay. Now, I employ 3D modeling to bring my concepts to life and utilize 3D printed textures to imprint onto clay slabs to form my creations. My experience as an animator has made me conscious of the importance of storytelling in my art. Sometimes, the narrative is evident in movement and energy, or in the aging history of a piece; regardless, I continue to strive for spontaneity in my execution.

I have a longstanding attraction to vessel forms, such as ancient pottery and natural containers like broken pods and shells. The interiors captivate me. I started creating sculptural vessels featuring raised copper and enameled designs. A significant portion of my work reflects the Japanese aesthetic of “Wabi-sabi,” which embraces the idea that life is both imperfect and transient. My recent projects integrate wood and soda firing techniques. I remain passionate about and incorporate these aesthetic principles in my clay work. The atmosphere created by wood and soda firing, in my opinion, enriches the sense of history and age.
